The property

Behind the property's ultra-modern clean lines lie undeniably high-end interiors, with gleaming tile floors and a vast palette of whites. There's a good flow in the friendly public areas, with a well-stocked bar, an arrangement of dining tables (breakfast, lunch and dinner are included), and a comfortable sitting area. Glass doors lead to wide, open decks, with views of the Heads, plenty of space to lounge, or dip in the rim-flow pool or Jacuzzi. Eating in? Try the line fish...

The rooms

All four suites and four deluxe rooms have clear glass doors that open to those distinctive Knysna views; some also overlook the ancient Outeniqua Mountains. The accommodation is spacious throughout, but the suites are larger, with charmingly idiosyncratic luxuries like a fireplace (Captain's Room) and, in the Elephant Room, an enormous sundeck and sauna. The decor throughout is tones of white with bold red accessories. All rooms have en-suite bathrooms, balconies, and every mod con imaginable. Kick back, you're home.

Activities

Find your equilibrium here, just above the ocean and away from the buzz of town life. Knysna offers something for everyone. Sail the open sea and look for dolphins, kayak the lagoon or surf nearby breaks. Forests and mountains on the doorstep offer plenty of trails and opportunity for adventure sports – mountain biking, trail running, zip-lining and canopy tours.
