About Kasbah Tamadot

Luxury in the Atlas Mountains with beautiful suites, heavenly cuisine & views to die for.
Should you be wondering which kasbah caught the eye of a billionaire on a hot air balloon flight over Morocco, Tamadot did just that and was quickly transformed into a luxury hideaway in the Atlas Mountains. Previously owned by a world-renowned antiquarian, it's brimming with stunning oil paintings and ornate tapestries and antiques from across the world. Lose track of time while exploring the rose-scented gardens, or with a deep tissue massage in the spa tent amongst the fruit trees. And the cuisine? It's (almost) too good to eat, with specialities including spiced lamb tagine, local favourite, pigeon pastilla, and roasted pears with mascarpone for dessert.

Property details

The property

A terracotta-coloured fort in the mountains, the Kasbah Tamadot knows how to appreciate a view. Enjoy it from the infinity pool, pouf-strewn courtyards, or the romantic rooftop terrace. The kasbah gets its spices from Marrakesh, seafood from the Atlantic coast and vegetables from Asni, and all prepared into a superb menu of local and international dishes, for consumption in the dining room, round the petal-laden pool, or on the terrace. At the end of the day, grab a cocktail in the silky lounge and enjoy the melodies of local musicians in the amphitheatre.

The rooms

To put it plainly, the rooms are gorgeous. Ornate antiques and glossy silks, velvet couches, and generous paintings under mosaic ceilings fill the rooms with colour. Handmade for the hotel, the King-sized beds are cushy and wonderful, and most rooms have a lounge area and terrace. The suites are stunning with grand arches, plush furnishings and a fireplace. Further down the garden, the Master Suite is a mini kasbah with three bedrooms, huge Moroccan bathtubs, a private pool and rooftop terrace. Kasbah Tamadot also has six luxury riads.

Activities

When in the mountains, hike! Kasbah Tamadot provides plenty of that, with walks ending beside the waterfalls of the Ourika Valley, with a traditional Berber meal, or at the summit of Mount Toubkal. Give your tootsies a break with a 4x4 drive over the ancient and uber scenic Tizi'n'Test Pass, where you'll stop at the 12th century mosque of Tin Mal. For an action-packed excursion, join a mule trek down the river, zoom across the Agafay Desert, or float above Mount Toubkal in a hot air balloon. Back at the hotel, learn to cook a Berber meal in a traditional kanoun stove and enjoy a movie night under the stars.
