Follow the wooden walkways, through a gathering of shady trees, and you'll find a huddle of tents, strategically positioned to offer idyllic views of a shimmering lagoon and passing wildlife. This is Kwai Expeditions, perfectly situated between the Moremi Game Reserve and Chobe National Park. The camp enjoys a diversity of habitats and you'll have the chance to explore on sensational game drives as well as mokoro rides. As its name gives away, the camp promises adventure and close encounters with nature - and every detail is seen to by the cheery team, from your first welcome song to the very last bush breakfast.

Sheltered by a huge jackalberry tree, the main camp area overlooks a lagoon, frequented by the Okavango Delta's most incredible wildlife. The lounge is warm and inviting with wooden furnishings and plenty of hot or cold drinks on offer, while the dining tables spill out onto the deck. Meals are top tier too! During your down time, take in the views or enjoy a dip in the small pool and after sunset, head to the firepit for star gazing and a chance to listen to elephant snacking on nearby trees.
The camp has six luxury tents (four Queen and two twin), which are decorated with gold fixtures, rich tones and cosy rugs. With roll-up 'walls' and glass doors that open onto a private deck, you won't have to miss a thing, even from bed. The bathroom is spacious with a huge tub, rainfall shower and double basins. The camp has put the environment at the forefront and all lighting and hot water is done with solar power.
The safari experience in Khwai cannot be exaggerated. On drives amongst open savannah, woodlands and lagoons, look out for impressive numbers of zebra, giraffe, lion and elephant, as well as the more elusive leopard, sable, roan and African painted dog. On mokoro rides, you'll get to examine the smaller elements of the Delta, including the stellar birdlife.
The location. You'll be right in the heart of Khwai, where wildlife is ever-present.
If you're bringing the whole gang, the Family Cottage offers lots of extra space and privacy with a fully-stocked kitchen for self-catered meals, living room, and two bedrooms.
If you have your heart set on a mokoro ride, June to October is your best bet.

An affordable Delta option with wildlife as diverse as the landscape and a smattering of unique lodges
