About Kwetsani Camp

CLOSED for rebuild from 01 October 2025.

Island tree-houses with a relaxed atmosphere

This intimate tree-house style camp, situated in the centre of the Jao concession, is known for its density of red lechwe and incredibly good birding. Although Kwetsani is not known for big game, it does offer good predator-spotting opportunities. Perched amongst fig and palm trees on the shores of a slim island, Kwetsani is perfectly positioned to make the most of the surrounding landscapes and their variety of game. In summary, Kwetsani offers an authentic and relaxing Okavango experience.

Property details

The property

The main area has managed to incorporate several large trees into its design, which creates a rather unique feel. It has a cosy lounge, a sociable dining area with one long table, and a well-stocked bar built around a jackalberry tree. In the day, guests can cool off in the plunge pool or make like a dassie and laze in the sun on comfy loungers. At night, the fire pit is a great spot to congregate, as is the boma. There’s also a curio shop and a must-do “loo with a view”!

The rooms

Kwetsani consists of five spacious and stylish en-suite tree-house chalets with an open, airy feel. The thatch, glass and canvas suites which are built around large trees, blend effortlessly into their beautiful surroundings. Twin or king-sized beds sit beneath a thatched roof and draped mosquito netting, while comfy armchairs invite you to flip through the provided wildlife magazines. The veranda is primed for day dreaming.

Activities

Kwetsani Camp offers superb land and water activities. In the summer, activities lean more towards game drives, whereas in the winter, water-based activities are the main pastime. The camp offers both day game drives, and night game drives with special lights providing the opportunity to see some unusual animals. Both mokoro safaris (in traditional dug out canoes) and boat cruises are relaxing ways to observe aquatic creatures and see things from a different perspective.
