Sitting pretty on a small hill, the entrance to the main wooden chalet is lined with lavender shrubs that fill the air with a gorgeous smell, whilst gorgeous poplars surround the property. The lobby has an inviting living room setup, adding to the home-away-from-home vibe, and the cosy décor features amazing local textiles and Argentinian ranch-style trinkets that highlight the region’s cultural legacy. A glass-walled hallway looks over the back garden, usually set up with tables for alfresco breakfast - but otherwise, expect a breakfast basket to be brought to your room at the time of your choosing.
The 10 rooms are spacious and well-equipped with a living room, kitchen or kitchenette, and a bathroom with a shower. The gaucho-chic style and charming details - like vases of fresh flowers and sprigs in the bathroom - complete the homely experience. Practically speaking, two-storey rooms can house up to three people (and there are fabulous views of the lake from the bedroom upstairs), whilst the apartments and buhardilla suites fit up to five people, and have garden and lake views. If looking for added privacy, there’s a separate cabin with space for five guests.
Considering the stunning surroundings and premises, staying in to just relax and savour the moment is always a good idea! However, there’s plenty to see and hike around El Calafate, and Perito Moreno glacier is only 80 kilometres away from the hotel. The attentive staff will happily help arrange any and all excursions you’re after, which usually include a pick-up directly from the hotel. If looking to stroll around the town centre, an easy Uber ride will get you there in a few minutes, but bikes are also available if you fancy a peddle.
