Throughout the boat, highly polished panels and floors and dark wood furnishings create an old-world atmosphere. In the saloon, a sultry breeze floats through floor-to-ceiling windows. All meals are served here, from tropical fruits in the morning to river-fresh fish in the evening. Drinks on the outdoor deck are also a treat, as the Amazon passes by in a riot of sound and colour. Hosting just 18 passengers, the boat is intimate but highly social, with guests and guides mingling throughout the day and into the evening.
Lined with dark wood, the nine air-conditioned cabins are cosy and comfortable, and come in a range of configurations. There are five double staterooms – the largest of which can be converted into queen beds – as well as single rooms and bunk beds. All have crisp, 700 thread count cotton sheets and duvets, and the walls are adorned with artworks of the birdlife you're likely to see each day. All cabins have large picture windows and the bathrooms come with L'Occitane amenities.
The cruise is an adventure in itself with plenty to see from the comfort of your room or from the decks, including swooping birdlife and the larger critters that line the banks. Of course, you'll also have the opportunity to explore on foot or by canoe, your senses primed for spotting the Amazon's iconic wildlife. The guides have exceptional knowledge of all things Amazon, from the flora to the region's socio-economic history. You can even spend some time with a local community.
