About Maison Brummell Majorelle

A design-forward gem nestled in the artistic heart of the Majorelle quarter.
What happens when you combine New Zealand architectural flair, Austrian hospitality, and Moroccan craftsmanship? This rather brilliant boutique gem, built from the ground up as a gathering spot for globe-trotting friends. Every corner reveals thoughtful details – from the Italian Vesoi suspension lamps to Gio Ponti door handles – while terrazzo stone floors and traditional tadelakt walls create an utterly distinctive backdrop. Just a whisper away from those iconic blue garden walls, this is the sort of place that makes you feel rather clever for having discovered it.

Property details

The property

The ground floor unfolds around a serene courtyard where bougainvillaea tumbles over a traditional fountain. A custom-built Moroccan kitchen sends out wonderful breakfast spreads to the dining room, while the lounge beckons with its modular sofas and crackling fireplace. The courtyard pool, flanked by built-in sunloungers, sits prettily under cascading plants from those famous garden walls next door. There's a 24-hour honesty bar for late-night tipples, and the coffee corner keeps caffeine levels perfectly topped up.

The rooms

Sixteen lucky guests get to bed down in rooms that read like a who's who of design excellence. Egon Eiermann chairs sit beneath Ingo Maurer paper lamps, while local artisans from Maison Nicole have crafted exquisite brass and wood pieces. The bespoke bed bases and bedside tables come courtesy of local carpenters who clearly know their stuff. Each room is a masterclass in understated luxury, fitted out with Italian Neve taps and those rather fabulous Gio Ponti door handles that make every entrance and exit feel a bit special.

What you'll love

The gloriously indulgent hammam complex, complete with massage jets in the heated plunge pool and a proper marble steam room that would make a Roman emperor quite jealous.
Insiders tip

Insiders Tip

Pop into the nearby Moro shop and restaurant – it's run by friends of the house and offers some rather spectacular finds that you won't spot in the medina.

Being an adults-only property means peace and quiet, but families with little ones will need to look elsewhere.
