About Marina Bay Sands

Singapore's skyline superstar where you'll swim amongst the clouds at 57 storeys high.

Love it or loathe it, Marina Bay Sands has become Singapore's most recognisable silhouette – three towers topped by what looks like a giant surfboard floating in the sky. And this isn't simply a hotel, but a veritable vertical city complete with theatres, museums, a casino, and dozens of designer shops. Since its billion-dollar facelift in 2024, it's actually now two hotels in one: the standard Sands Collection and the butler-serviced Paiza Collection. And yes, that rooftop infinity pool really exists, and oh yes, it's as brilliant as it looks in the photos. Staying here has a hefty price tag but it's certainly one to tick off your bucket list.

Property details

The property

The scale hits you first – a lobby so vast it needs signposts, corridors that seem to stretch forever, and enough marble to make up a small mountain. Yet somehow it works. The Paiza Collection's 55th-floor lounge offers a sublime refuge from the masses with personal kung fu tea ceremonies and an exquisite whiskey collection. Food-wise, there are 12 spectacular restaurants scattered across the complex, from celebrity chef outposts to hawker-inspired food courts. And then there's the lotus-shaped ArtScience Museum, the nightclubs perched on the roof and the luxury boutiques that sprawl beneath...

The rooms

Floor-to-ceiling windows frame either the bay, the gardens, or downtown in all 1,850 rooms. Recent renovations included beautiful Peranakan-inspired touches – chinoiserie wardrobes, screens mimicking shophouse facades, and carpets echoing Arab Street textiles. In the bathrooms, you'll find sport rain showers, standalone tubs, and Jo Malone amenities. Higher floors cost more but deliver accordingly spectacular views. At the very top is the Chairman Suite, sprawling across 6,770 square feet with its own piano and gym... although the standard rooms prove perfectly comfortable for those not requiring multiple living rooms!

Activities

That 150-metre infinity pool stretches across all three towers, offering swim-up bars and iconic Singapore panoramas – though expect more posing than laps during peak hours. The SkyPark gardens provide breathing space up high, while the Banyan Tree Spa is a sanctuary for the senses. Marquee nightclub pulls international DJs, Broadway-worthy shows fill the theatre, and the Shoppes' 270 stores could keep you occupied for days. Outside the complex, covered walkways connect to Gardens by the Bay and the MRT, making city exploration easy.

Why we love it

Why we love it

That first moment when your automatic curtains glide open to reveal either Gardens by the Bay's nightly Supertree light show or Singapore's glittering harbour – pure theatre.

Insiders tip

Insiders Tip

Hit the infinity pool at 6am if you actually want to swim rather than dodge selfie sticks. The sunrise is spectacular and you might even get a lane to yourself.

Something to think about

Something to think about

The lobby feels more like Changi Airport than a hotel entrance – thousands of people stream through daily heading to the shops, restaurants and the casino.
