The atmosphere in general is comfortable and cosy, if a little worn. Service makes up for it though, as the staff are friendly and accommodating in the local style. Upstairs, beneath the thatch, a bright and cheery lounge offers fantastic views. Good basic meals are served in the restaurant, and there's a bar for post-activity beverages. Note: check the cleanliness of the decent-sized pool before plunging in, and pack your headlamp as there's not much light in camp after dark.
Like the main areas, the decor in the 10 cottages is comfortable if slightly worn. The same can be said for the hot-water supply, which is also intermittent. Nevertheless, if you are looking for a comfortable and decent stay, Mburo has more than enough to offer. Raised on wooden platforms with thatch roofing, each of the cottages has an outside balcony where you can view the passing wildlife, netted king-sized bed, and an en-suite bathroom with (sadly intermittent) hot water.
You're in for some serious game viewing. Game drives, night safaris, walking safaris, boat trips and birding are the main activities on offer, so you're pretty much assured good sightings of the main stars here. Exercise your muscles on a horse-riding exploration, or a guided bike ride through the extensive wetlands, savanna and forest. Look out for birds (there are more than 350 recorded species), the aforementioned mammals (add to that list oribi, Defassa waterbuck, topi, reedbuck and hyena).

Fabulous plains game as well as horse-riding and bike safaris make this a great safari stop off.
