Mokolwane Plains is a contemporary tented camp on the banks of the Xudum River in the southern Okavango Delta, sharing a 200,000-hectare private concession with just one other camp. This is serious leopard territory (the BBC's Big Cats 24/7 and Netflix's Living with Leopards were both filmed here), and the suites look east across the river to open floodplains. Expect soaring canvas, timber and handcrafted furniture in the earthy tones of termite mounds and russet-red lechwe. Add an 18-metre pool, a spa and a fire deck over the water for listening to the Delta after dark.

The walkways dip down at key points so elephants can keep wandering through the unfenced camp.
