The property

The central lodge welcomes you into its broad doors. Celebrating local landscapes, the high ceilings, stone fireplace, and towering windows beckon the outside to come in. Once inside, kick back in the lounge or get a drink from the bar. They also have their own wine cellar, spa, boutique, and gym for you to visit during your stay. The wrap-around deck and inviting pool are perfect for warm days. A fire deck offers another wonderful gathering place for delicious feasts served under the stars.

The rooms

The lodge offers several different types of accommodation to suit your style and inclination. All of the suites are spacious and homey, refined in style with an understated luxury that invites you to relax and make yourself at home. Enjoy an outdoor shower or a dip in your private plunge pool. The suites are positioned to optimise your sense of privacy with expansive decks to lounge on while enjoying the absolute serenity of the bush. The different suites are sized to accommodate everything from an intimate couple, a family with children, or a party of two couples in an opulent villa.

Activities

Get ready for some serious photographic opportunities. Sharing an unfenced border with the Kruger National Park, Thornybush Reserve has 14,000 hectares of game and bird viewing to offer, with game drives day and night, and the opportunity to get up close and personal with the Big Five, if you are lucky. Simply sit back on your own private balcony with a book and watch the wildlife go by. And your holiday is as much about the moments between game drives as it is about the hours spent searching for animals on the plain. The experiences at Monwana have been curated to serve all your senses, to bring you fine food and a premium selection of wine in the cellar, as well as therapeutic spa treatments and personalised service – your Monwana experiences will be tailored around you.
