About Oberoi Udaivilas

Draped in flowers, Udaivilas is a feast of grand suites and idyllic views.
From the undulating water of Lake Pichola, The Oberoi Udaivilas is a fairytale in sandstone. The high domed turrets and rolling lawns set the scene, which happens to be the 200-year-old hunting grounds of the Maharana of Mewar. Mirroring the lake, The Oberoi is surrounded by sky blue pools - and the luxury suites come with a pool of their own. Before you delve into the cultural gems of Udaipur, the hotel has its own authentic experiences for you to enjoy including a beautiful henna tattoo from skilled Mehendi artists. Bathed in light, the hotel is especially dreamy at dusk as you toast the day with a G&T.

Property details

The property

Beneath its many domes, a faux sky dotted with clouds floats above Suryamahal restaurant, which offers a range of western to lip-smacking Indian cuisine and below a night sky motif, Udaimahal is The Oberoi's answer to fine dining. Enjoy al fresco meals at Chandni as you gaze out towards the City Palace accompanied by lilting traditional music. The old-timey Mewar bar really looks the part with its classic furnishings and a range of beverages and to complete the picture, the elegant Oberoi Spa offers a plethora of treatments alongside two temperature-controlled pools.

The rooms

Decked out in Mewar-inspired motifs, The Oberoi has a collection of premier rooms and luxury suites. Whether its with views of the lush garden or the lofty Aravali hills, each room has a sunny window seat and some also come with a private courtyard or terrace. Classy neutral tones with pops of colour fill each room alongside a king size bed and sleek marble bathroom. The Oberoi's suites, including the two-bedroom Kohinoor Suite, are pretty spectacular with a private pool, dining room and plush furnishings.

Activities

The Oberoi has plenty of home-grown experiences to get stuck into. Cooking Rajasthani cuisine with the chef and an expert guide to spices; a thekri workshop where you'll learn this fascinating craft from the masters; a scenic boat ride accompanied by wine and canapes; and a miniature painting session makes for the ultimate souvenir before you venture into the City of Lakes. Begin your Udaipur exploring with a heritage walk of the city's lesser visited lanes, passing grand havelis as your guide tells age-old fables. The history of Udaipur is yours to discover as you visit its antique-rich palaces, intricate temples and bazaars filled with authentic handicrafts.
