The property

Nestled atop a hill and tucked into the forest, the lodge is the epitome of Patagonian architecture. Think log structures, stone walls and huge windows looking out over stunning lake views. Days start with breakfast at the charming tea house, while the hotel’s informal restaurant offers homemade dishes bursting with local flavors as well as a selection of wines and craft beer. Colder days call for a hearty hot choc best enjoyed by the fireplace or the outdoor deck, and there’s a path down to a little private lakeside beach - borrow the hotel’s kayak for a paddle (or a splash!).

The rooms

If you’re looking for a room with a view (who isn’t?), Peninsula Petit is the place to go. The 11 rooms all face the gorgeous Nahuel Huapi Lake and surrounding colourful forest and are watched over by the Campanario and López mountains. The Patagonian décor and local art pieces add to each room’s warmth, and there are TVs, speedy WiFi and pleasant bathrooms with bathtubs. For added space and a King-sized bed opt for the superior room, which also comes with a minibar.

Activities

Peninsula Petit boasts a privileged location in the San Pedro Peninsula, right in the middle of the small circuit. Puerto Pañuelos - where most lake excursions start - is only five minutes away, as is the ski lift to the top of Campanario mountain, an unmissable spot to take in the amazing 360-degree views while enjoying a cuppa. Back at the hotel, the knowledgeable team are always happy to recommend and with activity arrangements all around the area. But exploring the hotel’s shoreline and adjacent forests is one of the most the perfect ways to spend an afternoon too...
