Pousada da Marquesa

Pousada da Marquesa occupies a cluster of 18th- and 19th-century buildings around the largest private garden in Paraty's historic centre. The same family has run it since 1989, and it shows — a German grand piano in the sitting room, colonial furniture collected over generations, oil portraits of previous owners. Twenty-one individually decorated rooms, a pool with its own bar, and a colonnaded veranda that's hard to leave.
