About Seba Camp

Well-rounded, homely camp in Botswana's Okavango Delta
Seba is a relaxed and intimate camp that overlooks a perennial lagoon in the Abu Concession, on the south-western side of Botswana's Okavango Delta. Named after a notorious elephant, the camp is best known for its ample population of elephants, and its accommodating attitude towards families and children. The reserve is also the subject for an elephant behaviour research programme. A stay at Seba offers, among other gems, the benefit of learning more about this project from the passionate guides and researchers.

Property details

The property

The open-sided main area, decorated with authentic bead and basket work, consists of a communal dining area, a lounge with a library, and a swimming pool surrounded by luxurious loungers offering solace from the midday heat. The decor creates a very warm and vibrant atmosphere, with colourful African photography and patterned pillows. There is a massive deck for outdoor meals, which also hosts the campfire - a wonderful place to meet fellow travelers and swap wild tales.

The rooms

The camp consists of eight luxurious tented rooms, two of which are double family rooms with their own plunge pool, toy box and sandpit. The bathrooms are luxurious, with giant “rain-shower" - styled shower heads and large fluffy towels. Each elevated room is individually furnished and offers gorgeous views of the water from a private balcony. In keeping with the central areas a bright and quirky style is incorporated, infusing an authentic African flavour.

Activities

Entertainment includes seasonal water activities such as mokoro and boat trips, and land-based activities - day and night game drives and guided nature walks. What truly sets this camp apart is its family-focused activities. Specific activities geared towards entertaining the little ones include basic photography, seasonal catch and release fishing, painting with natural bush powder-paints, and scrapbooking. Watch your kids fall in love with the wild.

Insiders Tip

Though often billed as a family camp, don't let this put you off. Seba is a bit less formal than others in its class and a bit more budget-wise.
