Selinda Camp

The raised communal area of the lodge is open-plan and airy with a thatched roof and leather couches. It’s not uncommon to raise an eye off your book to catch the movement of hippos and elephants in the watery shallows in front of you. Decorated with a colonial-contemporary feel, the lodge blends into the environment. An inviting swimming pool is located on the main wooden deck overlooking the spillway. There is also a bar, upstairs library, wine cellar, boma and open-air dining area.

Selinda Camp has nine permanent tented chalets under thatch and you don’t have to worry which tent is best because they are all identical (except for the family tent) and wildlife sightings can be enjoyed from each private deck overlooking the spillway. The colonial decor is complimented by wooden floors, a four poster bed, crisp white linen, writing desk and spacious en-suite bathroom with a full-sized stone bathtub, dual vanity basins and sliding doors opening onto a private outdoor shower.

Games drives happen in the morning and evening at Selinda Camp, often returning after sunset so you can enjoy spotting the nocturnal creatures of the bush. Guided walking safaris can be arranged putting you on foot and in touch with your senses as you track down the Big 5. Because Selinda is situated between the Okavango Delta in the west and the Linyati waterways and savannahs in the east, guests get to sample the different wildlife that these wet (the boat rides are amazing, water levels permitting) and dry terrains offer. The guides here have a excellent reputation and are renowned for their exceptional tracking skills and interpretative bush knowledge.
