The sheltered pool and bar are definitely the hub of Teju-Açu, complete with their glorious views of Pico and shady double sun loungers. In the restaurant, expect inventive regional dishes with a strong emphasis on seafood, fruits and the freshest of vegetables, whilst at the spa, you'll find yoga, massages, and aromatherapy sessions, all carried out amid those incredible trees.
Teju-Açu has sux bungalows, each divided into two rooms, and all with incredible views across the trees. Inside, there are four poster beds draped in mozzie nets, restored-wood furniture and lighting fixtures made from onion skins (really!). The bathrooms have solar-heated showers, hair dryers, and L'Occitane amenities whilst outside, private balconies and hammocks are the perfect place to enjoy the quiet forest setting.
Mere steps from Conceição Beach and with easy access to nearby Boldró Beach, much of life at Teju-Açu revolves around the sand. The hotel can also arrange boat rides for a different view of the coastline, diving excursions, and guided hikes into the forested interior, as well as visits to the Tamar Project, a local sea turtle conservation centre.

An Atlantic archipelago with glorious beaches and marine life and a heart for conservation.
