Property details

The property

With a bubbling fountain at its centre, the serene (heated) spa tent has two double rooms where you can enjoy treatments drawing on Ayurveda - India's ancient healing system. Encircled by trees, the secluded swimming pool has an apt stepwell-inspired design and cushy loungers. The main lounge is decked out in honey-toned chairs surrounded by walls of books and lovely jewellery and crafts. Made with hand-picked ingredients, much-loved family recipes are served alongside international dishes under a tiered dining tent or beneath a canopy of stars.

The rooms

The 10 air-conditioned tents are decked out with king size or twin beds, teak writing desks and an incognito (and well-stocked) cooler designed to look like an old-school chest. Relax on the daybed with pristine, white cushions or enjoy tea served by your butler on the patio - perfect for watching the birdlife. Separated by cotton drapes, the bathroom has a rain shower and deep dish tub in signature marble, where you can enjoy a post-safari herbal bath.

Activities

Let's begin with the more unexpected option of a tour to one of the park's historic forts, which offers sensational views and can be enjoyed with a personalised picnic. The park's namesake, Ranthambore Fort is one of the oldest in India and home to a plethora of temples. As the lush stomping ground of India's Royal Bengals, your stay has to include a tiger-spotting safari. With an experienced guide by your side, trundle through the undergrowth in search of that flash of orange, enjoy birdwatching by the river or head out on a camel safari through the surrounding villages.

Why we love it

Why we love it

On your way back from a morning drive, be sure to indulge in a farm breakfast - especially during the guava harvest season. Dining in the sun-soaked orchard as parrots flutter overhead is heavenly.
Insiders tip

Insiders Tip

While you're out in the jungle, keep a lookout for tiger cubs who make up a large part of the population, especially the youngsters belonging to Arrowhead - a favourite tigress.

Along linear pathways lined by trees, Tent 1 is the furthest away from the centre of the Aman-i-Khas for the ultimate privacy.
