The resort sprawls through the frangipani-filled gardens, and there's a definite touch of the Far East with red-tile roofs, ornamental pools and swinging rope bridges dotted around. Right at the front is the beach, and you'll find several bars and chilled-out restaurants for relaxed sundowners and light meals overlooking the waves. Just behind that is the swimming pool and terrace with assorted sun loungers, and there's also a fabulous Clarins spa with two hammams and a yoga pavilion if you're in need of some R&R.
You'll find 87 air-conditioned villas in the gardens - and there's definitely no need to worry about the neighbours, for each one is perfectly private and a good distance from the next. You've got a choice of simple but stylish one-bedroomed suites and larger family-friendly cottages with two bedrooms, right up to the palatial triple-roomed Royal Villa perched high on a spectacular granite outcrop. Whichever you choose, you'll be guaranteed a private patio with a shady gazebo and exotic outdoor shower, and some have private plunge pools and mini gardens. The stunning interiors feature natural colours, smooth wooden finishes, and elegant, island-inspired décor. Superb all round!
The choice of activities is impressive, with an on-site dive centre and watersports including snorkelling, kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding, and glass-bottomed boat cruises. The island has several hiking trails which are fun to explore, either with a guide or on your own, and offer the chance to discover some of the unique fauna and flora. The main island of Mahe with its colourful markets and boutique shops is only 10 minutes away by boat and definitely worth a wander. At the hotel itself, there are two tennis courts, a gym, a Clarins spa, and a special Kid’s Club for little ones.
