At Bangsak, they know the best seat is one where you can enjoy the view of lapping waves and epic sunsets. Extending onto the beach, the restaurant has zero walls to get in the way of the view, and serves a menu of Southern Thai classics and fresh-as-anything seafood, to be enjoyed whilst you gaze. A the spa, treat yourself to a seaside treatment of marine salt scrubs or a papaya, honey and herb mask, then grab a drink and choose your spot to relax - will it be the pool or the cocktail bar?
The rooms are unfussy and bright with vast windows, bleached wooden beds, and furnishings inspired by nature. The rooms are set in double-storey rondavels and some feature a giant Jacuzzi tubs too. In a more private setting amongst the trees, the cottages are entirely open-plan with a large stone bathtub and interiors offering a subtle nod to Thai traditions with woven lamps, patterned textiles, and bird cages. Each room has a private balcony or terrace, while some have direct access to the pool as well.
The beaches, mangroves and islands surrounding Khao Lak are a playground for water babies and sun-worshipers alike. Explore the hushed bay in a longtail boat, stopping to picnic in a hidden cove, and dive the colourful, life-filled reefs nearby. Enjoy long, scenic strolls down the powdery beach before plopping down in a lounger to while away the afternoon, or up the ante with a spot of hiking or mountain biking into the forest. When you return, there is an enticing menu of spa treatments to relax you.
A laidback coast where life is relaxed, the sands are soft, and the diving is spectacular.
