About Cerf Island Resort

Solitude and relaxation in a picturesque island setting
Cerf Island, the largest hotel on a small mile-long strip of white beaches and abundant towering tropical Tamaka trees, is home to only a few hotels and 100 local residents. Being only a short boat ride from the main town of Mahe it is the perfect kind of place to escape. Surrounded by the azure waters of the Indian ocean the reefs of the Sainte Anne Marine National Park are teeming with different fish species-perfect for snorkelling. No roads, no pathways and no chance of being crowded into mass resort-style spaces with your only task being to relax unencumbered.

Property details

The property

A picturesque little arrival jetty snakes through the waters that lap along the rocky sides of the main entrance to Cerf Resort. Open-sided thatch roofs and natural stone tucked into a jungle of green foliage welcomes you in. With two small beaches and two infinity pools (along with pool bars), there is plenty of space to relax or find a good view with the twinkling lights of Mahe town framed by rolling green hills in the distance - no fighting for sun loungers here!

The rooms

Incredibly spacious and decently appointed the 24 villas scattered around the hills of the property are a charming mix of timber and locally made rattan furniture. Comfortable and simply decorated, each is adorned with light cotton accents to offset the rich dark wood. The Tortoise Suites are smaller in size than the Hillside Villas but with larger balconies, while the Hideaway Villas have the addition of a private sun garden and generous bedrooms or sea views, which is why they are popular for the romantics.

Activities

If you are not spending your time working no your tan by the pool, there is plenty to do in and around the island. The marine park on your doorstep allows for some great snorkeling (the resort has free equipment) and diving, which you can do by kayak or through the resort. Pleasant hikes around the island offer up some great photographic views, especially from the helicopter landing pad. There is also a onsite spa if you need some pampering.

This is the kind of place where serenity is valued above all and, with no kids club, it may not be ideal for young families.
