About Dinaka Safari Lodge

An oasis for adventure-seekers in the heart of the ancient Kalahari.
Perfectly positioned in its own 200-square-kilometre game reserve on the northern border of Botswana's Central Kalahari Game Reserve, Dinaka is where you want to be during the dry season, when the wildlife is easy to see and the permanent waterhole entices all species to drink. This popular camp has acquired new owners, and extensive refurbishments have made, making this an ideal destination for a wild Kalahari experience. Dinaka hosts one of the most unique biodiversities in southern Africa, with its ever-changing desert landscape and varied wildlife. There's so much to love about the Kalahari... It's a place for the soul.

Property details

The property

You're guaranteed gorgeous views wherever you are at Dinaka. The large and spacious dining room, roofed with cool thatch, has a long table for a warm, communal atmosphere. It's a good place to get to know the other guests and share your experiences over a good meal and a glass or two of wine. The seating area, with its comfortable chairs and calming desert colours, is open-fronted to the views and the waterhole. You could sit there for hours...

The rooms

Seven spacious safari-style tents are connected to the main area by wheelchair-friendly walkways. The tents are well spaced and raised on wooden decks overlooking the waterhole. The interiors have comfortable beds, arranged as twins or a large double according to your needs, and en-suite bathrooms with both indoor and outdoor showers, hot and cold running water and flush toilets. For families, there's a two-bedroomed tent for families, sharing a spacious en-suite bathroom. There's a splash pool for cooling off.

Activities

The desert and its wildlife are the stars of the show. Explore them both on morning and afternoon game drives with guides whose knowledge of this landscape is astonishing. Guided bush walks are both fun and exhilarating, giving you some up-close encounters and a chance to admire the vegetation. Birdwatchers will have a chance to tick off a goodly number of the reserve's 200-plus species. Mammals here include Kalahari lion, cheetah, leopard, brown hyena, oryx, honey badger and bat-eared fox.
