The central area of the lodge centres around the large swimming pool deck overlooking the bay with ample sun lounger space. The thatched bar is at the edge of the swimming pool (ask for drink recommendations and try something new) and to its left is the restaurant where you can enjoy a delectable meal (it is quite pricey). If you just feel like playing a game of cards or reading your book then you can retire to the shade of Coco De Mer Lounge alongside the bar where there are couches and coffee tables.
You can enjoy the serenity of your self catering bunglaow from your shady wooden terrace. There are one to three bedroom bungalows. Not all offer air con but they do all face the ocean. We love the canvas beach chairs on the terrace where you can quietly enjoy your morning coffee. Each bungalow also has sun loungers on its lawn, overlooking the bay. The bungalows are simply furnished and decorated. There is a small lounge and writers desk, a tiled bathroom with shower and bidet and an equipped kitchen with stove, oven, fridge and ample work space. Get cooking!
Fishermen and women will be impressed with the successful fishing that goes down in and around the bay. The first rule of Iles Des Palmes is - if you catch it, you eat for free! Head out on one of the resort kayaks to see what lives beneath. The kids will love the tortoises that live on site and the snorkelling, best enjoyed around the corner at a private cove. The hotel can arrange boat trips and car hire. Shops are about 4km from the hotel or a 30 minute walk. Nearby you’ll also find the World Heritage Site, Vallee de Mai and beautiful swimming beaches like Cote d’or.
