Property details

The property

The main guest area has an open-plan design, with a vast lounge, bar and dining area overlooking the waterhole. Just in front is a charming boma where stories are shared around the fire after dinner. There’s a swimming pool and sundeck, plus a second smaller guest area for families or a small group looking for their own space, which has a private bar and lounge, and a plunge pool. Other facilities include an orientation centre and a curio shop.

The rooms

Built on raised decks, 10 large double or twin suites face the pan and its constant stream of animals and birds. The tents have a striking modern design, with elegant understated decor, and all of the traditional safari style that you’d expect of Botswana’s most luxurious camps (plus en-suite bathrooms with indoor and outdoor showers).The camp is unfenced, so keep your wits about you and don’t wander to your tent after dinner without an escort!

Activities

As the camp is in a private concession, off-road game drives and night drives are allowed. And that's good news when you consider that one-third of mammals are active mainly at night. Take a guided walking safari, or a tour of the waterways by boat or mokoro, depending on the water levels. Between August and December, you can see the nearby heronries in Godikwe and Gcobega lagoons, which can be reached by the main boating channel. Fishing is available in the right season too.

Certain rooms don't overlook the pan, which is a flurry of big cats, elephant and rare antelope so it's worth snagging a room with a view.

Something to think about
