Lake Lodge is a small and exclusive 12-room hotel in the little village of Kandalama, in the heart of Sri Lanka’s Cultural Triangle.
The village is dispersed around a 3000-acre man made body of water whose history dates back to over 1000 years ago, to a highly agriculturally advanced civilization, and is part of an intricate irrigation network to thousands of acres of paddy cultivation that continues to function and flourish even today.
Exploring the cultural triangle and surrounding villages is like traveling through a time machine. Apart from the tarred roads and the telephone wires, life in this part of the world has remained the same for thousands of years.
