About Le Chateau de Feuilles

An exclusive, elegant and easy-going boutique island getaway on heavenly Praslin Island.
From the air, the Seychelles amounts to scarcely more than a fist-full of strewn pebbles in an infinite ocean. Zoom in and you'll see there are 115 pebbles in total, one of which is Praslin Island, home to Le Chateau de Feuilles. Dotted with granite boulders and coursing with green grasses, this is one of the most picturesque hotels in all the isles and also, one of the most remote. With meticulous service and setting, it's no surprise that it's an offspring of the prestigious French hotel chain, Relais & Châteaux.

Property details

The property

The simple but ingenious architecture of Le Chateau seems to morph and mould into the setting. The landscapes are always kept front and centre and broad panoramas astonish at every turn, be it from the jacuzzi, the open-sided restaurant, or the vast wooden decks furnished with umbrellas and lounge chairs. There are plenty of spoiling spots to linger during the day and in the evening, candle-lit dinners are a five-course affair, executed with all the ceremony of high French cuisine.

The rooms

The nine exquisite rooms are each tucked away in the fragrant gardens, guaranteeing supreme privacy. Built with granite walls and thatched roofs and surrounded by lush foliage, they are elegant and understated with a perfectly minimalist approach to decor. With fine fittings and a catalogue of mod-cons, accommodation is not just comfortable but sumptuous. Choose from double rooms, junior suites, three deluxe suites or the supreme Royal Villa; each have a unique character and charm.

Activities

Ease into island life and enjoy the hotel's grounds, gardens and panoramas for a few days, or head out to the beach - the nearest are just fifteen minutes on foot, or a few minutes by car. A day trip to Grande Soeur island is a must for its pristine coral life and beaches. Snorkeling and SCUBA diving is easy to arrange through the hotel, as are bike rentals to explore a bit more of the island's terrestrial wonders. Book a Balinese-style deep-tissue or hot-rock massage for a real treat. Otherwise enjoy the simple pleasures of island living - lounging, sunning, reading and the occasional ice cream break by the swimming pool.
