About Little Mombo Camp

A private spot in the place of plenty

Referred to as the ‘place of plenty,’ this intimate tented camp is situated on Chief’s Island, within the Moremi reserve, in northern Botswana’s Okavango Delta. Little Mombo is essentially a smaller, more private neighbour to its larger sister camp, Mombo, and is known for top notch hospitality and guiding. The Mombo concession is renowned for offering some of the best big game viewing in all of Africa. Both camps are also eco friendly, solar-powered, and involved in a number of conservation projects including the reintroduction of the black and white rhino.

Property details

The property

The main area is authentically decorated, with relaxing dining and soft seating areas, a well-stocked bar, and mesmerising views of the game-rich plains. If additional relaxation is required, guests can succumb to an afternoon siesta on the shaded daybed with squishy scatter cushions. The firepit is the spot for pre-dinner drinks and afternoon teas, while the boma hosts weekly traditional meals. The camp also has a small plunge pool surrounded by inviting sun loungers, great for cooling off or catching some rays.

The rooms

The camp consists of three spectacular en-suite tents. Elevated and built below shady trees, the rooms have a tree house feel to them, with long, shaded private decks that allow you to truly make the most of the gorgeous views and nearby game. Inside the suites, each large, comfortable bed shares the same uninterrupted view. Each tent has an enormous bathroom complete with plenty of plush towels and an indoor and outdoor shower - perfect for feeling at one with nature.

Activities

Activities are restricted to daytime game drives - hardly a restriction with the Delta’s best game viewing on offer, incredible guiding and heated (yes heated) seats. You can also visit the hide, an ideal place to get that perfect shot you’ve been waiting for. Private bush events can also be arranged - choose from dinner under the stars in a private corner of the bush, picnics, or sundowners overlooking the sunset-tinted plains. Presentations on the return of the rhino to Botswana are also held regularly by conservation experts.
