The stylish lounge overlooks the Lwakahle River where animals often come to drink. There is an elegant restaurant and a stunning deck where meals are alternated. Bush dinners are often served in the unusual African boma. The library has a collection of reading material as well as a computer station. There is a gym and a curio shop too. Lukimbi also has a swimming pool and a children’s pool which are connected by a flowing stream and a waterfall.
Lukimbi offers classic suites and premier suites. The classic suites have romantic mosquito nets, air- conditioning, fans, a minibar, tea and coffee facilities, a well-appointed bathroom overlooking the trees and river, and a private deck extending from the lounge. The premier suites consist of the ultra-luxurious King Cheetah and Giant Eagle Owl suites. Each one has a separate bedroom, a dining area, a lounge, two bathrooms and an outside shower, as well as a private pool with a wooden deck.
There are two game drives daily in open Landrovers. Guides work with Shangaan trackers to get the best sightings. Bush walks at Lukimbi are wonderful, because it is so large and unspoiled. Full day walking safaris are offered during the cooler winter months. Golfers can play a game at Leopard Creek, one of the finest courses in the world. Guests can also swim and gym.
Teeming with wildlife, this easily accessible portion of the Kruger is a favourite among safari-goers.
