


The main area consists of a central mess tent, from which meals are served. There are lounge and campfire areas with sofas and hammocks, as well as a bar and a library with books and games. At night stories are told under the campfire under the stars before dinner. Low watt LED lighting in each of the tents are run off rechargeable batteries and solar panels, or else guests can enjoy the romance of candles and lanterns.
There are nine tents accommodating two people each. Each tent has a twin or double bed, bedside tables, a torch, gas and kerosene lanterns, a wardrobe for hanging your clothes, a writing desk with a lamp, sheepskin carpets, chairs and a table on the veranda for relaxing, and a luggage rack. They also have en-suite toilets with bucket showers and basins. Hot water is heated over a log fire and bought to your shower when you’re ready.
There are two game drives a day, in the early morning and the early evening. In the afternoon you can enjoy backgammon games in the main tent or read one of the many books in the library. If you feel like venturing out of the park, you can visit the David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage, the Afew Giraffe Centre, the Karen Blixen Museum or The Kenya National Museum. You can also go shopping for local arts and crafts.
