About Patio del Mundo

Colourful & packed to the rafters with travel stories, this is a real oasis in Medellin.
Set in the centre of the buzzing but leafy neighbourhood of EL Poblado Provenza, the Hotel Patio del Mundo is a set of two carefully-renovated houses surrounded by gardens brimming with colour. A blend of Colombian and French style, the hotel is filled with items collected on the owners' travels and each of the rooms are named after a place they've visited. While the busyness of the city seems to just fall away in this charming location, you're still an easy taxi ride away from the major attractions of Medellin, including the iconic Botero Plaza and the street art hub of Comuna 13.

Property details

The property

Sheltered by gardens where orchids, birds of paradise and all manner of fruit trees grow, the hotel has plenty of places to linger for a while including hammocks, loungers and a hot tub engulfed in bougainvillea. A breakfast of fruit, freshly-squeezed juices, pastries and eggs made to order is served on the sunny terrace where hummingbirds will flit in and out of view. In the evenings, enjoy a selection of drinks and snacks in the garden. Inside, the sitting room and library are decorated with Colombian prints and pottery.

The rooms

There are 13 rooms, each named after a place visited and loved by the owners, and decorated accordingly. The Provence room is accented with shades of lavender, whilst the India rooms are draped in vivid textiles. Features vary from room to room but can include private hot tubs, terraces strung with hammocks, and large bathrooms. Overall, the rooms are light-filled and artfully done with bold design choices accented by chic, minimalist furnishings.

Activities
