Every inch of Rati Lanna has been beautifully crafted with polished woods, white-washed walls and classy furnishings. The main restaurant, Mira, serves an array of northern Thai and international dishes, which can be enjoyed inside or on the open-air terrace. Should you wish, wake early to offer alms to a monk who arrives at the pier by rowboat – it's a wonderful chance to join in a centuries-old ceremony. Just a 10-minute taxi ride away, you'll find the Old City of Chiang Mai, which houses the city's most iconic temples and museums, while the famous Night Bazaar is only five minutes from the resort. Then there are cooking classes, hikes into the hills to meet local tribes and visits to elephant sanctuaries.
