The old Redford farmhouse is a blend of Georgian and Cape Dutch architectural styles, a short stroll from the guest accommodation, overlooking the gardens leading down to the lake. Candlelit dinners are held in the original settler’s dining room, and breakfasts are served in the farmhouse kitchen or on the patio beside the swimming pool. Art classes are held in the spacious studio near the pool pavilion, and guests can enjoy a game of garden tennis on the court nearby.
Noble House is an elegant Cape Georgian home with two double suites upstairs above a vast luxurious lounge furnished with antiques. Both are en-suite, and perfect for couples travelling together or a family of four. The historic Carriage House has one large en-suite double room and a cosy lounge packed with family heirlooms. Miss Tiggy Winkles is a charming self-catering cottage with two bedrooms, fully equipped kitchen, a lounge and dining area, and its own private garden with barbecue facilities.
There is so much to do within the estate grounds that it's tempting to stay put and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. A swimming pool, tennis court and a meandering network of paths offer the chance to get some exercise. Grab a fishing rod and canoe to try your luck on the lake. Birdwatching trails can be arranged, and art classes are available too. Further afield, an array of nature reserves, adrenalin-filled adventure activities and stunning beaches are within easy reach.
