



Shinde Enclave’s thatched main area is divided between two levels, both of which are raised off the ground on wooden platforms. The top tier houses the communal dining and lounge areas, both of which are neutrally coloured and decorated with rustic but stylish furniture. The lounge beckons you to relax; the dining room offers convivial mealtimes. Downstairs, a fire bowl surrounded by directors' chairs is the perfect setting to listen to your local guide's twilight hour bush stories.
There are just three tented en-suite rooms, built on wooden platforms to to give you uninterrupted views of the grassland. Every detail has been well thought out, from the comfortable king-sized beds, draped in mosquito netting, and spacious, charming bathroom with hot and cold running water to the comfortable armchairs, ceiling fan and even a decanter of sherry and a jar of cookies. Beyond the tent flap is a partially covered deck with a luxurious daybed for afternoon siestas.
There are activities galore at Shinde Enclave, known for its quality guiding. Day and night game drives are the best way to explore the various habitats of this region. A half- or fiull-day walking safari offers a raw experience of the bush, putting you in touch with long-forgotten senses. Drift along the grass-lined waterways in a mokoro (dugout canoe) to explore its wonders, including a rich birdlife. Finally, fishing and game watching from the boat are a great way to end the day.
