The main living area and cosy, warm kitchen are shared with the Ladakhi family who call it home. Doing so will give you an incredible insight into the area and what life can be like in these sometimes harsh conditions. There's a cook who will reliably rustle up all meals, including local favourites and international fare, and the guides who accompany you on treks will pop in and out at various times.
There are just six rooms in this petite homestay: five twin rooms with shared bathrooms and one single with an ensuite. Whilst the accommodation might be rustic, it's extremely comfortable and you can expect gas heaters and warm showers to keep the chill at bay, as well as beautiful, heavy fabrics so typical of this region - but perhaps pack an extra pair of socks too!
It's the wildlife and the incredible hiking you come for here. Snow Leopard is located in a pretty perfect spot, in the centre of three valleys that are known for their wildlife, and you'll spend your days trekking on foot in search of wolves, ibex, Himalayan foxes and the piece de resistance, the majestic snow leopard. Then there's the scenery. Mind-bogglingly spectacular is the phrase that springs to mind and you'll while away many an hour with your jaw on the floor...
