The main area is perfectly positioned on the edge of a forest of enormous leadwood trees, so expect magnificent views of the floodplains ahead but plenty of shady spots to relax in. The lounge area is right at the front whilst the separate dining area is just behind, and both are cool, airy spaces filled with trinkets and treasures from the explorers of old. There’s also a firepit close by where morning coffee and evening G&Ts are served, an elegant swimming pool and lots of loungers, and a treehouse library, elevated four metres into the boughs of the trees and ideal for some siesta (or any time of day!) wildlife viewing.
With only seven rooms, Tuludi is an intimate sort of place where the staff will know you by name and nothing is ever too much trouble. Each palatial tent is a whopping 100 square metres and has a bedroom, separate dressing area, bathroom and indoor lounge as well as a large outdoor veranda with sunken seating area and a blissful hanging chair. To complete your elegant bush experience, there’s a splashy bathtub and an outdoor shower, both overlooking the pretty landscapes. If you don’t leave your room, we might not blame you!
The Khwai Private Reserve is, quite rightly, famous for its animal densities and you’ll undoubtedly see large herds of elephant and buffalo, plenty of big cats and maybe even a wild dog or two. Activities are therefore focused on game viewing and you can enjoy game drives in the morning and evening, mokoro and water-based safaris when the water levels are right (July to September is your best bet) and walking safaris. Nearby, the Skybeds offer a fabulous way to spend an alfresco night under the stars if you’re looking for something a little different to complete your stay.
Tuludi Camp is owned by Natural Selection which is dedicated to conservation, partnering with local communities, governments, and organizations to protect and expand conservation areas. They build eco-friendly camps that blend into the environment and aim to inform guests about Africa's wildlife challenges and successes, hoping to inspire further positive action for wildlife conservation. A contribution of $50 per guest, which is included in the nightly rate, goes towards the above goals.
