About Vik Chile

A romantic, super-private vineyard retreat with breathtaking vistas & bold style.
You might hear 'The Wine Valleys' and think a little slice of Napa awaits, but the Vik turns every vineyard cliché on its head. A work of art in itself, the hotel features a 'floating' bronze and titanium roof that mimics the ridges of the surrounding Andes, and every room is designed to transport guests to a different place entirely. While the floor-to-ceiling windows ensures the lake, mountain and vineyard vistas are always there, each suite and bungalow is dripping in creativity, from walls covered in coins to eye-watering furnishings inspired by the work of Dali. Unique doesn't begin to describe it.

Property details

The property

A location perched on a hilltop overlooking the Vik Natural Reserve affords the lodge with 360° views, enjoyed from the suspended infinity pool, spacious terraces or over meals in the glass-encased dining room. Tuck into authentic South American cuisine - the traditional barbecued seafood is not to be missed - accompanied by a glass of their award-winning wine. The living room is styled to the nines with exquisitely-upholstered couches and vivid artworks, including a diptych from Anslem Kiefer's, 'The secret life of plants'. The spa offers pampering treatments made with Vik's own grapes.

The rooms

Across the property, there are 22 suites and seven glass-walled bungalows, all boutique in their decor and design. Each has a King bed draped in high-quality linens and an en-suite bathroom. The styles range from Art Nouveau to grafitti-inspired, high-fashion to coolly Japanese (it all depends on your taste). The bungalows are set apart and feature a living room, private terrace and hot tub. The original VIK Lodge is also available to stay in, with room for eight people, a kitchenette and two very scenic terraces.

Activities

Sitting within a 4,450-hectare reserve, the Vik offers a number of fantastic outings. Explore Andean trails on horseback, led by a Chilean Huaso (cowboy) or mountain bike into rugged corners of the valley. There is also a bevy of trekking routes round the lake and reserve, or more laid-back tours of the winery (with a tasting, of course). In your down time, enjoy a game of pool in the lounge, head to the spa, or join the chef for a cooking lesson.
