We have travelled with Timbuktu multiple times, They are always helpful and look after us well. Carola helped us plan the trip within our budget and also mindful of our interests and preferences. Guide - Friendly, kind and very knowledgable. Happy to accommodate any preferences we have and tailor the plan to include a few extra recommendations once he got to know us and also according to the weather on the day. Very experienced in guiding while also giving us personal space. Perfectly spoken English. Driver - Friendly, kind and safe driver. Kept the car very clean. Car - Nice and comfortable SUV with plenty of space. The holiday itself is always curated well and to our preference. They ensure we can see the attractions and time it well to allow minimal crowds. Days aren’t too packed so there is time for relaxation. Hotels are chosen well to accommodate budget and preferences. Happy to travel with Timbuktu again.

A trip of a lifetime to see Eastern Africa.! Every aspect of the trip was exceptional. Timbuktu coordinated everything. We were treated like royalty. The accommodations and the staff at every lodge were top notch. Gorilla treking was nothing short of magical. Safari on the Mara and in the crater were amazing. Hundreds of thousands of animals within feet of our vehicle. 14 rhinos, over 40 lions, two leopards, two cheetahs, countless elephants and giraffes. Thanks to Joanna and the entire Timbuktu for delivering the experience of a lifetime!

The bottom line is that Timbuktu planned a fabulous trip for us (two first-time travelers to Africa). Things ran very smoothly during our three weeks in Africa, and we enjoyed every stop and accommodation along the way. Our travel agent took the time to speak with us about what we wanted, and her recommendations were detailed and tailored to what we had discussed. She was also clearly knowledgeable about travel to Africa. We initially came to her with one idea for our trip, but she kindly helped us see that it might be a logistical challenge, and she helped us craft an alternative itinerary that met all our goals and desires. The only qualm we had was with some of the communication during the planning process - our agent was lovely, and very helpful, but occasionally failed to respond to us by the deadlines she gave, and did not let us know what was going on when that happened. To be clear, these issues didn't end up impacting our trip, but it did create some concerns (although minor) before we left. Ultimately, though, it was the trip of a lifetime, and we're very grateful for all the planning help we received! We would recommend Timbuktu to others looking to travel to Africa.
