What to do in Bonito

Bonito is a truly magical place with some of the clearest, most crystalline rivers in the world, which form an open-air ‘aquarium’ where you can snorkel amidst shoals of colourful fish. Visibility can exceed 30 metres! The region also boasts incredible cave formations, where you can rappel into their cavernous centres where electric-blue lakes wait to be explored. On hikes through the forest, stop at one of the many beautiful waterfalls for a picnic and a dip. For even greater thrills, enjoy ziplining into river-fed pools, tubing down gentle rapids and kayaking adventures. Before you leave Bonito, visit Buraco das Araras, one of the world’s largest sinkholes, which has become a sanctuary for hundreds of red-and-green macaws.
