What to do in Milan
Start with the Duomo, climbing onto the rooftop terraces for a walk among the spires and a view that takes in the whole city in one - and even the Alps beyond. A highlight of this stunning city is undoubtedly standing before Leonardo's Last Supper at Santa Maria delle Grazie (although book ahead as you only get fifteen minutes) and tracing his footsteps through the Castello Sforzesco. Then, spend an afternoon in Brera, the artists' quarter, with a stop at the Pinacoteca for Mantegna and Caravaggio or, if fashion’s your thing, take a shopping tour through the Quadrilatero della Moda with a stylist who knows each and every boutique. End the day with aperitivo on a Navigli terrace – the Milanese have made an art of it.
