What to do in Nice
Nice rewards an appetite. On a food tour of the Old Town, you'll taste socca, the chickpea pancake served scorching hot from the pan, and pissaladière, the local onion tart heaped with sticky onions, anchovies and black olives. On the cooking class, you'll shop the morning market with your chef before making a proper Niçois lunch. For art, visit the Chagall museum, built to house his seventeen-painting Biblical Message, and the Musée Matisse up in leafy Cimiez, where the artist spent his last years. In between, the Promenade des Anglais curves around the Baie des Anges, its water shading from turquoise to cobalt. Just know the beaches are pebbles, not sand. Pack water shoes. Or a very good book.
