About Chobe Safari Lodge

A great place to stay, with lively views of the Chobe River.
Chobe Safari Lodge lies on the banks of the Chobe River, the artery of life for the Chobe National Park. The lodge is large (and popular, as its location dictates – this is where Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe and Zambia meet), but its lovely setting in an area rich in indigenous flora and fauna, its comfortable accommodation and good food make this an ideal stopover for a few nights before or after a safari. The lodge has recently been renovated, and is an excellent launch pad for Chobe, Victoria Falls or the Caprivi Strip.

Property details

The property

The steep-roofed main complex overlooks the river, and is spacious, airy and busy. Its fully licensed restaurant serves a good selection of food, and plenty of it. (Avoid peak meal times). There's a relaxing cocktail bar with a viewing deck, a pool deck, a lounge for entertainment, a health and beauty salon, an activities centre, squash court, curio shop and wi-fi hotspots.

The rooms

Attached to the main complex are 46 newly decorated Safari Rooms with big views, aircon, en-suite bathroom, satellite TV and private veranda; and 22 luxury River Rooms, each with twin beds, TV, large en-suite bathroom and a private veranda. In the garden surrounding the complex, eight thatched rondavels offer a comfortable stay, with ceiling fans and en-suite bathrooms. There is also a campsite in a forested setting, with an on-site bar that is a popular sundowner spot.

Activities

There's no shortage of activities, but bear in mind when booking that game drives and boat cruises may be busy. Head into Chobe, take a day trip to Victoria Falls and the Okavango Delta, book a scenic flight, go fishing, visit the reptile park, hire a guide and go birding, walk through a Namibian village or chill out at the pool.

Botswana
