About Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc

A Riviera address to boast about relentlessly & a pool with a view that tops them all.

Cannes and Nice sit 20 minutes off in either direction, yet from the tip of Cap d'Antibes, both disappear entirely, swallowed by nine hectares of pine forest and a coastline straight off the front of a postcard. And that’s the best bit of Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc: total seclusion, right in the middle of the busiest stretch of the Riviera. The cliffside pool, cut straight into the rock, comes with a trapeze slung above the water, where Picasso, Hemingway and the Fitzgeralds once filled its cabanas, inventing the Riviera season as we know it. Three MICHELIN Keys, one of only a handful of hotels anywhere holding them, confirm what regulars already know… Nowhere else on this coast does it quite like Eden Roc.

Property details

The property

Walk the iconic 200-metre Grande Allée and you'll land, eventually, at the rose garden, home to Queen Elizabeth roses and a 150-year old wisteria clinging to the wall. Louroc, the Michelin-starred dining room, is all about the grand Provençal set-pieces whilst Giovanni's serves refined Italian beneath a pergola of pines. Then there’s the Bellini Bar, pouring, unsurprisingly, Bellinis – and delicious ones too. And Zelda's is the zesty live-music lounge named after the Riviera's most notorious madame.

The rooms

The rooms are spread across three buildings – the historic Villa Soleil, the sea-facing Eden-Roc Pavilion and the lighter, fresher Les Deux Fontaines. Throughout, they are decked in ivory, pale yellow and blue, with floral linens, antique furniture and beautiful marble bathrooms. Only ten Deluxe Rooms exist, tucked into the original building; they're the ones to go for if history matters more than space. If it doesn't, the Eden-Roc Suite comes kitted out with 200 square metres of it plus its own rooftop terrace.

Activities

The Riviera's legendary cliff pool, carved into the rock in 1914, comes with a vintage springboard and a trapeze slung above the water (really!). Beyond it, there are jet skis and kayaks for hire, a private pontoon for chartering a catamaran out to the Lérins Islands, plus five clay tennis courts shaded by Aleppo pines. Keen to leave the grounds? Antibes' old town is a short hop away, the Musée Picasso a little more, and Saint-Paul-de-Vence – all cobbles and galleries – about half an hour inland.

Why we love it

Why we love it

Dangling above its clifftop pool, the trapeze turns a dip at one of the world's most iconic hotels into something even better.

On Friday and Saturday nights, La Rotonde transforms into Zelda's with live music, elegant dress and closed shoes for the gentlemen. Ask reception to book your table before the band starts, pronto.
