Sitting pretty at the end of a eucalyptus-lined path and surrounded by enchanting gardens, the 18th-century, tiled-roof estancia is elegance and refinement personified. Inside, the main areas are beautiful, with large windows, charming wood details, warm chandeliers and antique furniture. Days start off with a plentiful breakfast buffet, whilst later in the day, the popular La Table restaurant showcases authentic Argentinian flavours (try the tamales!) while highlighting local produce and wine. With an inviting open fireplace, there are also breathtaking mountain views to gaze at whilst the cooking action takes place in a traditional clay oven.
Traditional charm still intact, the quaint rooms are rural in style but not in nature. Exposed beam ceilings, antique furniture and tiled floors are rustic and lovely, but the soft ivory and beige tones and embroidered bedding add a touch of refinement. Further creature comforts include AC, Wifi, and enormous, squashy beds. The suites are located in a separate house, and all boast private terraces. Some of the larger ones also enjoy a bathtub and separate living area for added comfort.
Relaxation is at the heart of the hotel. Casual birdwatching or just sitting by the outdoor pool, listening to nature breathe and enjoying the stunning surroundings is definitely encouraged. But House of Jasmines also makes an ideal departure point for exploring the area, and plenty of excursions are on offer. Check out the wine route and Cafayate, discover the Puna Salteña or take a horseback ride between rivers and prairies. Rafting, biking and hiking are also on the menu for adventure seekers, while sport enthusiasts can try out Argentinian fronton or hit the links at the 9 or 18 golf courses. And of course, there’s also the spa…
Let the Argentinian northwest charm you with its striking landscapes, history and sense of adventure.
