About Pousada Surucua

A birdsong-filled, garden retreat with bright & breezy rooms opening to tropical paradise.
Ensconced by lush tropical gardens and just a short stroll from Bonito’s lively centre, Pousada Surucuá is a peaceful hideaway with all the thoughtful comforts you could want after a day in the wilderness. Family-run, it almost feels like a beloved country estate – all tropical gardens, hammocks scattered under fruit trees, and afternoon coffee and cake. Spacious, bright rooms open directly onto the greenery, and there's a pretty outdoor pool, too. With local tours on tap and town’s restaurants and shops a gentle walk away, Surucuá is a great balance of adventure-ready and genuinely restful.

Property details

The property

Much of Pousada Surucua is designed for simple relaxation. Think a shimmering outdoor pool (and a separate children’s pool), loungers scattered in the shade of vibrant gardens, sun-dappled terraces and a relaxing spa-style area for massages. Nature invades just the right amount and it doesn't ever feel overgrown - and it's all complemented by consistently friendly service from a very welcoming team.

The rooms

The 16 spacious rooms are bright, air-conditioned sanctuaries with enormous French windows. Beds are plush, bathrooms neat and functional, and the overall vibe is one of refreshingly simply comfort. Private patios or balconies extend your living space into the gardens and some overlook the swimming pool, whilst others face the gardens.

Activities

Surucuá’s tour desk can make all arrangements to visit Bonito's famous attractions, most of which are within easy reach: the turquoise underground lake at Gruta do Lago Azul, snorkeling with tropical fish in the Rio da Prata, rappelling into the Abismo Anhumas cave, and hiking to waterfalls in the Parque das Cachoeiras. You’re also perfectly placed to wander into town to explore the restaurants and shops, or simply linger by the pousada’s pool, get a massage, lounge under the tropical sun, and enjoy an afternoon coffee in the gardens.

The gorgeous outdoor pool framed by palm-dappled tropical gardens makes this feel more like a secret sanctuary than a hotel.
