Property details

The property

The main area of the lodge has fabulous, expansive views of the Chobe River and national park. You can dine in style (don't miss the chef's signature Botswana beef fillet served with seasonal vegetables, or grilled impala with port wine and chocolate sauce – vegetarian options are available), and enjoy wines from the well-stocked cellar. There are plenty of communal areas for relaxing and a split-level swimming pool for whiling away the time between safaris.

The rooms

Chobe Chilwero has 14 thatched rooms and a honeymoon suite, each with aircon, large netted beds and an en-suite bathroom with a free-standing tub and both indoor and outdoor showers (the latter is a superb option at night, when the stars are your only ceiling). The decor is tasteful and luxurious with a relaxed feel.

Activities

Motorboat safaris and game drives are the best ways to spot the abundant game, but if you're a keen hiker, take a guided foot safari to get an up-close experience of all the smaller aspects of game-viewing. Hop aboard the new safari boat for a photographic cruise, take a late afternoon cruise on the riverboat to watch the sun set over the Chobe, or languish beside the pool in the hot afternoon.
