A large thatched lapa that serves as the lodge's open-air restaurant sits at the centre of The Old House; guests draw here throughout the day for meals and in-between time. The lush garden with plenty of seating and no shortage of birdlife is a wonderful place to while away the hours. Take a dip in the small plunge pool or take in generous river views from the restaurant deck or a shady spot in the garden.
With just 10 rooms, The Old House accommodates an intimate number of guests. The three family rooms, three twins and four doubles, each have air-conditioning and en-suite bathrooms. The family rooms sleep four in one room (a double bed and two twin beds). Rooms are not spacious or especially stylish but you'll have everything you need including a safe, mosquito nets and good water pressure.
The Old House is a convenient home base from which to explore Chobe National Park on a morning or afternoon activity or a full-day adventure. River cruises take place directly from camp on a double decker boat; they can be as relaxing as they can be productive (for game viewing). Take a day trip to the town of Victoria Falls to witness this spectacular wonder and walk its colonial streets. Canoe down the Chobe River on a three-hour excursion for a closer experience of the river's flora and fauna.
A place for unrivalled elephant sightings in Botswana and serene boat cruises along the mighty Chobe River.
