Miles of sand, rock and more sand, the Agafay is supremely surreal and adventurous travellers will find paradise here. Leaving your isolated camp behind, spend your time exploring in every manner imaginable, riding across the landscape on camel, horseback, dune buggy, mountain bike or by foot. For a different side to the dessert, float overhead in a hot air balloon or take a dip in the Lalla Takerkoust oasis. After nightfall, turn your eyes skywards for some of the clearest stargazing; it's near-impossible to tear your eyes away.
Unwind and disconnect completely in one of the Agafay’s swoon-worthy mobile camps, complete with Bedouin drapes, private yoga sessions, and nights gazing at the star-strewn sky.
In spring, wheat and colourful wildflowers carpet the desert floor. It’s unusual but breathtakingly beautiful – and the temperature is spot on.
We wouldn’t exactly describe the Agafay as busy, but it is a popular spot for locals and visitors looking for their fix of thrills and spills. It’s definitely not unusual to catch sight of a few others atop their quad bikes (or camels).
