Some hotels simply provide a bed for the night; others invite you into a world they've meticulously crafted. This newcomer to El Calafate falls firmly into the latter camp. Born from the complete transformation of a former guesthouse, the property has emerged as something rather special – a design-conscious bolthole where every material, scent and texture has been chosen to echo the wild landscape beyond. Run by siblings Luisina and Facundo Perez Costa, there's a warmth here that feels genuinely familial rather than corporate. The building features charred timber using the ancient Japanese Shou Sugi Ban technique – a rather clever nod to sustainability that also happens to look extremely handsome against the Patagonian stone. It's an ideal perch from which to explore the famous Perito Moreno Glacier and the wider wonders of Los Glaciares National Park, yet close enough to town for an evening stroll along Avenida del Libertador.

At the foot of the Andes, right in the heart of San Martín de los Andes, 'La Casa de Eugenia' invites you to enjoy unforgettable days surrounded by indescribable natural beauty, in a place where warmth and comfort take center stage.
'La Casa de Eugenia' is part of the cultural heritage of the city of San Martín de los Andes. Built in the 1920s, it forged its history in this mountain village over the years, serving in its long life as the headquarters for the National Parks Administration, a family home, and eventually transforming into one of the city's first Residences. Following extensive restoration and expansion, it now feature nine rooms, a Tea Room, two living and reading rooms, a beautiful swimming pool, and a private park with our own fruit trees. We are San Martín’s first Boutique Hotel, based on a B&B concept with the quality of a hotel.
Resting away from the noise and hustle of the city, immersed in a landscape surrounded by mountains and mere meters from Lake Lácar, is only a small part of all that 'La Casa de Eugenia Hostería' offers its guests, complete with the personal attention of its owners and the peace of the mountains right in the city center.
