The service from Jeffi Norris was so thorough especially in scheduling our inter country travel within South Africa. That was a big part of our worry and Jeffi relieved all that tension- now we can focus on the fun !

Our travel agent, Kevin Z., paid attention to the little details that will make this trip a success. Not only did he stay within our budget constraints (a miracle since we weren't giving him a lot to play with) but he also listened to the type of travelers we are and picked lodges and tours to fit us, not just the budget. I have a few physical and medical limitations and he has planned in assistance for me where needed, so thoughtful. The Timbuktu site has some helpful information for preparing to travel, like travel insurance, gratuity amounts and best currency to use, clothing, what to pack, etc. Having this advance knowledge will take the stress out of our trip.

A great hotel for the start of a safari

Excellent recommendations and communication. Even through some stressful circumstances beyond anyone’s control, Carola and the team and Hacienda La Danesa made sure we were safe and well taken care of.

Every single detailed of this amazing vacation was covered. From the pickups/drops, getting through customs and, of course, the safaris! I cannot say enough about Timbuktu! Kristin and Annie were excellent with my numerous request. Will definitely use their services in the future.

The Timbuktu website is excellent, allowing you to plan a customised and personal itinerary. Once completed an agent will contact you and chat about your needs and/ check the lodges/camps have availability for your dates. It's a premium service as they then engage local agents to deliver the tours. It works really well and I would use Timbuktu again. Jonty was very patient with all my thoughts and changes especially as we began the discussions in January 2000 and had to postpone until end December 2023!

Timbuktu was incredibly easy to work with. They were responsive, made great suggestions, checked out my suggestions and addressed all of my concerns. Incredibly thorough and knowledgeable. They provided information about all aspects in one concise email once I booked. I feel cared for and safe traveling to Africa. I will use them again!!

Timbuktu is doing a great job in making our trip to Namibia over Christmas I would say. It's our second time to let Timbuktu manage my trip in Africa and we found it reliable and we were looked after once we landed in Windhoek. Annie is very responsive when it comes to itinerary enquiries and it's the right agent if you look at the high end travel in Africa especially we would like to make it an entirely private tour. The only matter we thought there is room for improvement is the communication with the local agency, as we haven't been informed that there wouldn't be anything to do on Christmas Day in swakopm in the planning stage and we would make an adjustment if we learnt this when we confirmed the itinerary.
