12/10 Trip

7 nights in Uganda

A world class experience. Was recommended to me from a friend and plan on passing along the recommendation to friends who are interested in a safari.

This is our second trip with Timbuktu. The web site is an excellent way to preview many possibilities and get excited about your trip. Everything worked out smoothly. The suggestion to get VIP service to facilitate a domestic flight transfer was especially helpful: who knew South Africa requires a second security screening when changing domestic flights different from other countries.

The service was generally excellent, but with a few glitches here and there that make me feel like it was more of a 4-4.5. We had quite a long and involved trip, which required lots of touch points and planning. So, it's not surprising that some things got overlooked.

Excellent trip, great communication…will definitely use Timbuktu again

June 2024

5 nights in Tanzania

Thank you Timbuktu, Tessa and Nathan. I was a bit hesitant having not worked with Timbuktu before but they were able to put together lodges, camps, flights and guides around the itenerary I dreamed up in my head. We had a group of 10 so it is not always easy to just slide into a room here and there. Tessa was very organized and communicated with me often as we worked out all the details. The providers they used to support safari were amazing…thank you Albatros!. I would not hesitate to book with them for another adventure. Again thank you for a wonderful trip and great experience.

We highly recommend working with Timbuktu travel when planning a trip. We were trying to coordinate our vacation with a business trip and they helped it all work seamlessly. The properties they recommended were perfectly located for our needs. All the places we stayed were comfortable, clean and safe. Our transfers went smoothly to and from airports/hotels. We’d like to make a special shout-out to Johanna for her kindness and knowledge. We hope to work with you again!

Timbuktu was incredible! Our trip was perfect! All of the lodging they picked out was perfect! All of the transfers were on time and easy. They made the trip logistics a breeze and let us enjoy the trip of a lifetime. Couldn't recommend them enough and will use again in the future.

Amazing Thailand trip, thanks to Timbuktu and Khiri for a great anniversary

10 nights in Thailand

Always love Timbuktu. The service is great, and they are very friendly. We had the most incredible help from Catherine our first time around, so Meg had big shoes to fill. This experience and trip were nearly as perfect as the last, so we have been recommending to friends and family for a while now. They definitely charge a premium, but the convenience and professionalism of their local partners can't be beat. They always find the most spectacular excursions and add little details to make your journey feel special.
